The Trump campaign continues its push to find out whether voting irregularities in certain swing states were the cause of the president’s loss to Joe Biden in this month’s election. But some specific personnel shifts that have already occurred in the administration — or have been speculated about — indicate to many that there could be a rush to make changes in the next two months before there is new leadership in the White House.
The most dramatic cabinet move saw President Donald Trump announce the firing of Defense Secretary Mark Esper, who had been in the role since July of 2019. Because of the Defense Department’s responsibilities, that change has caused some consternation.
