Arizona Democratic leaders are weighing in on possible leadership changes being considered in the Democratic caucus of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Congressman Ruben Gallego says while some members may want to replace Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, Gallego does not think it is time for a change.

“While I’ve in the past, I actually have opposed leader Pelosi, or Speaker Pelosi. I was one of the many that opposed her in 2016, I don’t think that this is a time for us to experiment,” Gallego said.

Congressman Raul Grijalva agreed, citing Pelosi’s experience.

“I have no inclination to change my support for Speaker Pelosi now, or when we get together,” Grijalva said.

Both congressmen say with a slim Democratic majority in the House, Pelosi’s experience will prevent Democrats from losing necessary votes.
