Gov. Doug Ducey Reminds Arizonans To Mask Up As Cases Surge

As Thanksgiving approaches, Gov. Doug Ducey released a video Monday on social media asking residents to continue social distancing and wearing masks.

Arizona is seeing surges of COVID-19 cases, reminiscent of the summer, but Ducey has not implemented any new restrictions, opting for residents to take personal responsibility.

“With the partnership of our businesses and you, we’ve been able to keep blood safety pumping through our economy, while fighting COVID-19. Let’s keep it up," Ducey said.

Ducey says this is the “new normal” and asks residents to protect themselves by following existing mitigation efforts.

Public health experts are calling on the governor to issue a statewide mask mandate and tighten restrictions.
