Why Some Arizona Republicans Voted For Democrats In The Presidential Election

As Arizona’s Republican Party continues to challenge the results of the election here in court and through the Governor’s Office, a new analysis shows just how President-Elect Joe Biden won here.

The Arizona Republic’s breakdown shows Biden was able to flip 60 precincts in Maricopa County that President Donald Trump won in 2016. Trump, on the other hand flipped one. And many of those red-turned-blue precincts lie in traditionally Republican and independent areas of the suburbs where Trump had won narrowly before.

It’s a narrative that’s mirrored around the country, and here in Arizona, it's being attributed to Cindy McCain’s efforts to campaign as a Republican for the Democratic candidate and against Trump.

So who are these Republicans who voted for Joe Biden? And why did they do it?

Susie Duffy is one of these Arizona Republicans. The Show spoke with her about her vote, and she said for her, it was all about Trump.
