Arizona Snowbowl Opens For Season, With COVID-19 Restrictions

Arizona Snowbowl is officially open for the winter ski season.

Because of the pandemic, though, the Flagstaff ski resort will be operating differently this year.

Spokesperson Li Ciu says, among the many changes, lift tickets need to be purchased online, and masks will be required at all times.

“We’ve added increased spacing to help guests maintain social distancing, physical distancing in lift lines," Ciu said. "We’re limiting indoor capacity a lot, so we’re encouraging everybody to go outdoors, to dine outdoors, to take breaks outdoors, so that’s going to be the main change for the season."

Ciu says skiers have an advantage when it comes to social distancing — skis and snowboards are about 6 feet long.
