Drugmakers Pfizer, Modernaand AstraZenecahave all reported promising results from trials of COVID-19 vaccines. Gov. Ducey tweeted Monday that he’s optimistic the first doses of a vaccine will arrive to Arizona by mid- to late December.
Ducey's tweet said Arizona is "working closely with health officials and private sector partners to ensure a quick and effective distribution."

Since September, the state has been onboarding more than 500 sites around the state to be ready to distribute a vaccine.
Arizona’s Department of Health Services submitted its draft plan for vaccine distribution to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in October.
The plan says the first COVID-19 vaccines will be prioritized for Arizona’s health care workers, followed by other essential workers and vulnerable populations.
