Election Security Expert Discusses 2020 Ballot Counting Process

Heading into the 2020 election season, there was tremendous concern that foreign actors — including Russia and China — would attempt to interfere with this month’s results. There were certainly attempts, but no evidence that they were successful.

Instead, what we’ve seen lately are attempts by attorneys for President Donald Trump to claim voter fraud and improper ballot counting — among other things.

And last week, President Trump fired the man who was given a lot of credit for the system doing so well — Chris Krebs, who had been the director of the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.

With The Show to talk about all of that is election security expert J. Alex Halderman, professor of computer science and engineering at the University of Michigan.
