Phoenix Chamber's Arizona Business Index Shows Consumer Optimism In The Face Of Pandemic-Related Economic Hardship

Despite pandemic-related economic hardships, consumers remain confident.

The Greater Phoenix Chamber released its Arizona Business Index, which analyzes the health of the state’s economy from the consumer perspective.

Chamber President Todd Sanders said consumers are upbeat about one particular area of the economy.

“Arizonans are very optimistic about the housing market, which is really good. I think we all were sort of watching anxiously, our home values, and certainly that part of the market remains strong," Sanders said.

Other positive areas are job satisfaction and job security. Consumers are also optimistic that economic conditions will improve. Sanders says good news, like COVID vaccines, are helping with the overall optimism.
