Researchers Call For 3-Week Arizona Stay-Home Order As COVID-19 Cases Surge

As coronavirus cases surge throughout Arizona, university researchers are recommending a three-week stay-home order.

The researchers warned that the spike in coronavirus cases could overwhelm hospitals if nothing is done.

As schools and businesses have reopened nationwide, cases have surged, and the same has been true in Arizona.

Members of the COVID Modeling Team at the University of Arizona said without such steps, it would be like facing a major forest fire without evacuation orders.

The state’s patchwork of mask mandates and lack of enforcement remain a concern.

Arizona added more than 4,000 new cases and 36 deaths due the virus Saturday, and hospitalizations continue to rise.
