Word S4 E6: NaNoWriMo Part 3 — Crossing The Finish Line

What do a retired veteran, a museum archivist and a technical writer have in common?

They all finished the challenge of National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) and wrote at least a 50,000-word novel during November.

In this episode, we first catch up with Joanne Marie de Biasi, a retired veteran living in Glendale.

She affectionately refers to the novel she finished for NaNo this year as “Silver Chick Lit” and has been writing since she was a child.

Plus, Christina Samore was kind enough to answer a last-minute call to join us and talk about her project, a novel that stems from her time working in museums.

Finally, we caught up with  Kevin Troy Darling who lives in north Phoenix.

Although he’s been an avid creative writer for many years, he actually makes his living in a technical field. He ventured into the sci-fi genre for NaNo.

Portions of “Word” have been nominated for an Edward R. Murrow award.

We’ll be back soon with our season-ender.

Thanks so much for supporting public radio and the literary arts in Arizona and the region!
