McConnell Pays Tribute To McSally's Service On Her Last Day In Congress

As the lame duck session of Congress comes to an end, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell paid tribute to outgoing Sen. Martha McSally on Tuesday.

After her appointment to the Senate by Gov. Doug Ducey, McSally lost her bid to retain the seat to Mark Kelly last month.

McConnell called McSally a trailblazer and highlighted her career in the Air Force as a combat pilot who rose to the rank of colonel.

“The junior senator from Arizona has charted a singular course," McConnell said. "She has balanced respect for tradition with an eye toward the future. She opened countless new doors for others.”

McConnell thanked McSally for her service in the military and in the Congress.
