Arizona health officials added more than 12,000 new coronavirus cases and 23 additional deaths to the state's total count as of Dec. 8.
Hospitalizations also continue to rise, but ICU bed usage dropped from 92% to 90%.
Even as there is optimism about a COVID-19 vaccine being available to frontline medical workers as early as the middle of this month, uncertainty reigns when it comes to the virus.
