While there have been reports of some allergic reactions to the COVID-19 vaccines, Dr. Joshua LaBaer of Arizona State University's Biodesign Institute says the vaccines are safe.

He points out that virtually all drugs can show side effects in some people.

“Tens of thousands of people have had these vaccines, and the rate of side effects has been very low,” LaBaer said.

LaBaer expects the vaccines to get emergency authorization within a matter of days in the United States.

The first batch will be given to health care workers and those especially vulnerable like senior housing residents.
