86th Phoenix Open In Scottsdale Will Have Limited Attendance

The Phoenix Open is scheduled to tee off in two months in Scottsdale with limited fan admissions and other COVID-19 safety protocols.

The 86th Phoenix Open is scheduled for the first week of February at TPC Scottsdale.

The Thunderbirds, a service group that hosts the Open, announced they would move ahead with a scaled-down version of what is normally the most attended golf tournament in the world.

More than 700,000 fans were at the 2018 Open.

For 2021, the Thunderbirds said they are planning to release tickets for a small fraction of the normal capacity at the 192-acre course.

The famous 16th hole, known for its rowdy fans surrounding the entire par three in a colosseum-like setting, will be scaled down as well.

Packages for the 16th hole are on sale, and a decision on general admission passes is expected in the coming weeks.
