APS To Expand Discount, Waiver Policies To Help Customers During Pandemic

Arizona Public Service has made changes to its eligibility and discount rules over the past year to help accommodate more customers who are affected by the pandemic. Now most of those changes will continue into 2021.

Yessica del Rincón with APS says one of those changes will help those struggling to pay their electric bill.

“APS customers who have a past due balance of $75 or more will be placed on an automatic eight-month payment plan. And really that’s to give customers more flexibility and time to make their payments," del Rincón said.

Del Rincón also says bill payment credit options for limited income customers will continue. And APS is expanding income assistance eligibility to 200 percent of the federal poverty level.

Late fees will continue to be waived through October 2021.
