The pandemic has dramatically affected how — and how many of us — use public transit.
Buses and light rail vehicles in the Valley that were typically full during morning and afternoon rush hours have seen significant drops in ridership. Thousands of people have lost their jobs, while many others are working from home.
In the midst of that shift, though, Valley Metro’s light rail line is going to receive more than half a billion dollars to help fund expansion and keep light rail at the center of area transit.
