City Of Phoenix Offers Free Rapid COVID-19 Testing In January

The city of Phoenix will offer free coronavirus testing in a variety of locations to kick off the new year.

The city has tested thousands of people through its mobile testing van since August.

No insurance is required, and the results are available while you wait.

Felissa Washington Smith has been with the program since its beginning. She says it has been popular because of its accessibility and convenience.

"So for us our model is we’re really focusing on serving the underserved community. So people who do not have insurance, it is at no cost to them, so that is the good thing, and if you do have insurance they will accept it but we are providing COVID testing at no cost to residents," Washington Smith said.

The city will also offer testing at a limited number of walk-in sites.

More information and pre-registration is is available at phoenix.gov.
