Despite rollout of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines and about 90,000 Arizonans being immunized, COVID-19 is still taking a large toll on the Navajo Nation.
The Navajo Nation reported 146 new cases of COVID-19 and three deaths late Sunday.
In a statement, Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez emphasized the importance of staying home, wearing a mask and maintaining social distance from others.
The numbers reported by tribal health officials bring the total count to more than 23,000 cases, including 819 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic in March.
