Governor: 2 Lucid Motors Suppliers Up And Running In Sonora

Two suppliers for the electric car company Lucid Motors are up and running in Sonora.

That’s according to a recent announcement from Gov. Claudia Pavlovich. In a release, she says Cooper Standard, which has a plant in coastal Guaymas, will provide gaskets and hoses.

Faurecia, which operates in Hermosillo, will make battery packs.

Lucid Motors completed its Casa Grande manufacturing facility late last year, according to a December release from the company. Assembly is expected to begin this spring, with annual production capacity estimated at 30,000 vehicles.

Part of what made Arizona attractive to Lucid was its proximity to the significant automotive manufacturing hub in neighboring Sonora, according to the state’s economy secretary.
