In Mexico, the president showed his support for the incoming administration, while revealing certain sympathy for President Donald Trump.
President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said he respects the U.S. sovereignty and would not comment on the protests but criticized the decision made by some social media outlets to block President Trump.
López Obrador said he dislikes censorship and that everyone has the right to send a message on Twitter or Facebook, even when someone argues that it goes against some accepted values.
The Mexican president said he and his government held phone conversations with President-elect Biden and his staff to continue the prosperous relationship between both countries.
He said Biden acknowledged efforts made by Mexico to fight the pandemic are better than in the U.S.
