Health authorities are extending permitted hours of operation in the Sonoran capital Hermosillo.
Much business activity had been shutting down at 8 p.m. but will now be allowed until 10 p.m. starting Monday, according to a recent state release.
That comes after requests from business groups, as well as what authorities called a slowdown in case growth. The city, as well as five others in the state, remains at maximum risk for coronavirus spread.
A number of businesses, like bars, nightclubs, casinos and stadiums, remain closed in all such cities.
January was the worst month to date in Sonora’s pandemic, with new case and death records set.
