When Arizona’s Superintendent of Public Instruction gives the State of Education Address, the speech receives some attention.
After all, education is vitally important to the present and future of the state and is an extremely significant part of the annual budget passed by lawmakers and signed by the governor.
The pandemic — and its enormous impact on students, teachers, parents and learning — will make Superintendent Kathy Hoffman’s speech to legislators today quite a bit different.
The address will touch on common themes but will also reiterate the importance of Arizona’s schools in the bigger picture of the state.
The Show spoke with Superintendent Hoffman earlier and began by asking her to assess the state of education in Arizona.
