Help is being offered to college-bound students at drive-in events throughout the Phoenix area. Completing the Federal Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the first step in determining how a student can pay for college.
The drive-ins allow families to ask questions they have about the FAFSA. Soilo Felix with Be A Leader Foundation says studies show students who complete the FAFSA are more likely to attend college.
He also says it answers a lot of questions about going to college, such as how families are going to pay for it and what financial aid resources the student will get.
FAFSA is used in several merit-based scholarships and determines the student’s financial needs. The next FAFSA drive-in event will take place on Feb. 24 at Academies at South High School.
