AZDHS And Local Pastors Work Together To Encourage COVID-19 Vaccination

The Arizona Department of Health Services and minority community pastors are working together to encourage local congregations to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

Pastor Warren H. Stewart Sr. from the First Institutional Baptist Church says everyone needs to be vaccinated.

"Over the past year our communities have been devastated and dealt with many challenges brought on by COVID-19. So today we look to the future with a sense of hope thanks to the vaccine and to our faith," Stewart said.

State Health Director Dr. Cara Christ says this campaign’s goal is to build up confidence in the vaccine by working with trusted community leaders, encouraging them to get the vaccine and talk about their experience.
