Arizona Legislators Debate Expansion Of School Voucher Program

This week, the Arizona Senate Education Committee voted in favor of a bill that seeks to make low-income students eligible for Arizona’s Empowerment Scholarship Account program.

If it passes, it’s estimated that about 60% of the state's public school students would be able to use taxpayer dollars to fund their education at a private or parochial school, or even homeschooling or a learning pod.

To learn about the bill and the fight that’s brewing, The Show spoke with KJZZ’s Rocio Hernandez.
