Voting Company Smartmatic Sues Fox News, 2 Trump Attorneys

Voting technology company Smartmatic has filed a $2.7 billion lawsuit against Fox News, as well as attorneys Rudy Guiliani and Sydney Powell, for claiming the company skewed election results to favor Joe Biden.

Phoenix First Amendment Attorney Dan Barr thinks Smartmatic has a very good chance to win the case.

“If I were defending Fox, I’d be terrified of this lawsuit, because the claim is not only clearly false, but other media looked into this and decided they were false,” said Barr.

Barr says Fox News might claim Smartmatic is a public figure, which would complicate the proceedings, and force Smartmatic to prove that Fox News and the attorneys knew at the time of the broadcast that the statements were false.
