Tucson Unified School District To Allow Option For In-Person Learning In March

The Tucson Unified School District will allow its students to return to in-person classes starting the week of March 22.

Middle and high school students will have the option to either stay remote, or go in-person for four half-days a week.

District Superintendent Gabriel Trujillo says elementary students have a slightly different choice.

“They will be able to select an option to stay 100% online, working from home remotely, or they will be able to select the option to return to school full time," Trujillo said.

Trujillo also says there were concerns that the half-day model for elementary school students would lead to learning loss and be too disruptive for families who need child care.
