Ducey Follows Biden, Orders Flags To Be Lowered For COVID-19 Victims

Flags in Arizona will be at half-staff starting Tuesday, to honor the lives lost due to COVID-19. Gov. Doug Ducey announced the order on Twitter on Monday afternoon.

This came after President Joe Biden ordered flags on federal property to be lowered for five days  to mark 500,000 U.S. coronavirus deaths

Arizona has seen more than 15,600 fatalities since the pandemic began last year.

Ducey wrote: “Every life is precious, and we will continue to work hard to protect more Arizonans and overcome the devastating effects of the pandemic.”

Ducey has been criticized for his handling of the pandemic and for not implementing stricter protocols, like a statewide mask mandate.
