The sponsor of a measure that would ask voters to give state lawmakers the ability to decide which presidential electors to certify decided this week to hold the proposal for now. But a bill that would remove voters from the permanent early voting list if they did not cast a ballot in two consecutive election cycles got new life this week after the Senate had previously voted it down.
Those are among the high-profile election and voting-related bills lawmakers are considering, but they are by no means the only ones.
The Brennan Center for Justice has analyzed these kinds of bills across the country and says Arizona leads the nation in what it’s calling voter suppression legislation.
