No Apparent Deal On U.S. Vaccine Sharing With Mexico

Mexico is hoping to get U.S. help with vaccinating its people.

Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador was expected to ask for that help during his meeting this week with President Joe Biden. He was asked Tuesday during his morning press conference if the request bore any fruit.

“I can't say that an agreement was reached, but I also can’t say that there wasn’t an agreement,” he said. “It went well for us, that is what I can say.”

Prior to the meeting, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said that the U.S. priority was ensuring that all Americans get vaccinated, and once that’s achieved additional steps could be discussed.
