Allister Adel was appointed to be the Maricopa County attorney in October 2019 when her predecessor was put on the Arizona Supreme Court. Adel ran in November to capture the office in a more permanent way for four years, and she won. But because of a fall that caused a brain injury, Adel wasn’t able to celebrate — or even know about her victory — for a number of weeks.
She’s still in recovery mode but is back to leading her office on a regular basis.
The Show spoke with Adel for more about a number of things — including criminal justice reform and gang charges that were filed against certain Black Lives Matter protesters.
