The state’s department of health services reported 284 new COVID-19 cases and 59 COVID-related deaths March 18. The state also recorded more than 44,000 new vaccinations.

Starting March 19, and each Friday thereafter, additional vaccine appointments will be made available at all four state COVID-19 vaccination sites for the following week.

On March 19, at 11 a.m., Arizonans will be able to schedule appointments for the week of March 22. The state Department of Health Services may add more appointment slots because of cancellations and no-shows at those sites.

The downward trend in cases that Arizona is seeing also applies to Pima County.

The Show spoke with that county’s health director, Dr. Theresa Cullen, for more about the current situation for Pima County and the pandemic.
