The Maricopa County Community College District has released details on its network outage that began earlier this week.
On Tuesday, MCCCD identified suspicious activity on its network, and immediately disconnected network access and took various systems offline for protection, the district said in a Friday statement. This includes sites where students access course materials, grades and information such as MyInfo, Canvas, RioLearn, Maricopa email, Google Tools and the Student Information System.
The outage also caused the district to postpone its governing board meeting.
MCCCD is working with independent forensic specialists to investigate and resolve the outage.
"The Maricopa Community Colleges are committed to completing a detailed analysis of its internal systems and will take all appropriate action in response to its findings." the district said in its statement.
The outage occurred while students had a week off of classes for spring break. The district has not said whether the issues will be resolved when students return to class on Monday.
