Arizona has begun making COVID-19 vaccinations available for those 16 and older in the state, and within minutes of registration opening this morning, state health officials say all available appointments have been taken.
The Department of Health Services says it will open up about 80,000 new appointments March 26 and to check back then.
Meanwhile, the state added 605 new coronavirus cases and another 44 deaths to its daily dashboard March 24.
Hospitalizations appear to be leveling off with intensive care unit usage at 84% overall.
As for vaccinations, the state is just short of 3 million shots given, with about 26% in Arizona having received at least one.
The Mayo Clinic’s coronavirus tracking tool is now forecasting the virus, trying to predict where the next hot spots will be.
It originally developed the model to help estimate how many people might be in the hospital to make sure providers could take care of patients — both those with COVID-19 and those without.
