Arizona Extends Deadline To File Income Taxes

Arizona residents have been given another month to file their individual income tax returns.

Last month, the IRS extended the deadline for federal returns from April 15 to May 17. On Monday, the state followed suit, as Gov. Doug Ducey signed a matching extension for state returns.

Taxpayers who file by May 17 will not be assessed late-payment penalties or interest. However, estimated payments are still due on April 15.

Last year, the state and federal governments gave similar extensions, moving the filing deadline to mid-July because of the pandemic.
