Since the outcome of November’s election, legislatures across the country — mostly those with Republican majorities — have moved to make changes to voting laws.
Some of the most controversial elements have happened in Georgia. Those include tightening up absentee balloting, both in terms of how early the ballots are sent out and the elimination of a signature-matching system that had been used to confirm a voter’s identity.
Voting legislation is also progressing through Arizona’s Legislature, including a bill that would change the Permanent Early Voting List.
2020 saw growth in voter turnout, including among young voters.
To discuss how young voters could be affected by changes and how they feel about the proposals, The Show spoke with Andrew Goodman Foundation Ambassadors Anusha Natarajan and Cyrus Commissariat. They who work on voter registration and education for students at Arizona State University.
