Preparing for a $2 trillion overhaul of the nation’s infrastructure, the Biden administration has handed out letter grades to each state in the 2021 Report Card For America's Infrastructure report.
Arizona has been given a C for its infrastructure, which sounds rather average, but only two states received a higher mark.
The report says the average Arizona driver spends more than $600 annually due to driving on roads that need repair.
But the report looked at more than roads and bridges. States received grades on clean-energy jobs, public transportation, drinking water and broadband.
The report says 14% of Arizonans have poor broadband connections, and 45% have only one provider.
Only Georgia and Utah received higher marks than Arizona, both earning a C+.
Most states received a C- or worse, and nine were cited for a systemic lack of investment.
ADOT had no comment on the report, saying it does not comment on pending legislation.
