Harvard University Professor Links Religion, Capitalism In Book 'Religion And The Rise Of Capitalism'

We’re all familiar with the phrase "separation of church and state." Though it’s not in the vernacular in the same way, others may cite a separation between religions and monetary systems — because how often do people’s spiritual beliefs affect how they think about money?

Quite a bit, according to Harvard University professor Benjamin Friedman in his latest book "Religion and the Rise of Capitalism." The Show talked with Friedman about whether that connection leads us to any link between ideas like free will and free markets.
