A new analysis from the Pew Charitable Trusts finds Arizona gets most of its total revenue from taxes. But the amount it gets from the federal government is not far behind.
Pew found 44% of Arizona’s money comes from taxes, while 40% comes from the feds; the national average is 49% of a state’s money coming from taxes and 31% from Washington, D.C.
Rebecca Thiess is manager for the Fiscal Federalism Initiative at the Pew Charitable Trusts. The Show spoke with her to learn how else Arizona compared to other states.
