University Of Arizona Mobile Clinics Aim To Get COVID-19 Vaccine To Rural, Underserved Communities

With demand for COVID-19 vaccines slowing down, the University of Arizona will put more focus on vaccination efforts for underserved and rural communities.

UA President Robert Robbins announced a mobile health clinic taking place this Wednesday in Nogales where 150 truck drivers that carry food and other produce in Arizona and other parts of the state are expected to be vaccinated.

“That will be really, really important for those individuals in southern Arizona who can’t make it to many of the PODs that we have," he said during a Monday press conference.

To date, the university's mobile clinics have dispensed over 10,000 doses of vaccine across the state.
