Utilities, Policymakers React To Biden Administration's Water Goals

In March, the Biden administration put out a long list of steps it wanted to take to address infrastructure shortcomings in the U.S. And in his first address to Congress on April 28, President Joe Biden detailed a few of his priorities. One of them fits in the general category of water — including eliminating lead pipes and moving to ensure that all communities are able to access clean water.

The administration also aims to help areas of the country suffering from drought — and Arizona certainly fits that description.

For reactions to Biden's water goals, The Show heard from two perspectives.

Sarah Porter is director of the Kyl Center for Water Policy at ASU’s Morrison Institute, and Joe Gysel is president of EPCOR USA, which manages water systems in parts of Arizona, New Mexico and Texas.
