FEMA Mobile Vaccination Units Arrive In Pima County

The Federal Emergency Management Agency has arrived in Pima County with two mobile vaccination units.

This comes after plans for a large vaccination site in Tucson were shelved in favor of the mobile units. FEMA and Pima County spent weeks in discussions

Tammy Littrell with FEMA says it’s time the vaccines go to the people, not the other way around.

"The power of partnership allows us to come together in an equitable way to distribute vaccine to the hardest hit, hardest to reach places here in Pima County," Littrell said.

The units are a one-stop shop for either the two-shot Moderna vaccine or the one-shot Johnson & Johnson. The effort will continue through June 26.
