Humble: Vaccines For 12+ Will Help AZ Reach Herd Immunity

Arizona’s COVID-19 numbers have reached a plateau, but the executive director of the Arizona Public Health Association says there’s still much to be done.

Will Humble says it comes down to vaccinations.

“If we can pick up the pace of vaccinations with some better strategies, then I think by mid-June to Fourth of July is that period of that window where I think we’ll start to see a decrease in cases," Humble said.

Humble says getting 12- to 15-year-olds vaccinated is important to reach herd immunity. And he thinks the FDA will authorize that age group’s eligibility this week.
