How A New Law On Doxxing Could Impact Arizona's Free Speech

Among the bills Gov. Doug Ducey has signed into law during the current legislative session is one meant to tighten restrictions on doxxing — the process of revealing personal information about someone else online. As more of us have smartphones and spend time using social media, the problem has grown dramatically.

The bill passed the Legislature with bipartisan support, but some are concerned it goes too far and may actually help limit political-related speech.

The Show heard two perspectives on this bill.

Rich Robertson is a private investigator with R3 Investigations. Robertson opposes the bill, and The Show spoke with him to learn why.

Jenna Panas is the CEO of the Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence. Panas and her organization supported the bill, and The Show spoke with her to hear why the new law could be good for Arizona.
