Health Care Provider Partners With Phoenix To Vaccinate Underserved Communities

Adelante Healthcare, in partnership with the city of Phoenix, provided vaccines again this weekend to those in underserved area codes.

The event at Cesar Chavez Library is the third in a series of vaccination events, mostly located in south Phoenix. All three approved vaccines were made available, with walk-ins accepted.

The library is located in Laveen, where just over 53% of residents have received one dose of a vaccine.

Anthony Murillo of Adelante Healthcare says the organization is on pace to vaccinate more than 1,000 people at events this week.

“Our last event, actually, was at Greenfield Elementary School in south Phoenix, and we vaccinated over 650, 12 and up, with the Pfizer vaccine, and with this event, I know we brought in about 400 vaccines," said Murillo.

Adelante’s next event is at Grant Park in south Phoenix, where about 51% of residents within the area code have received at least one dose.
