Vaccinations Start For Sonorans 40-49 In Several Cities

The vaccination effort in neighboring Sonora is proceeding at a decent clip, and now those between 40- and 49-years-old are getting doses.

Over the weekend, tens of thousands of doses were given around the state. Just in Hermosillo, the state capital, more than 50 thousand people between the ages of 50 and 59, or who are pregnant, received the lifesaving medicine.

On Sunday, vaccinations for the next age group — those between 40 and 49 — started receiving their doses in the border cities of Nogales and Agua Prieta, according to a state release.

In a Monday tweet, state health secretary Enrique Clausen announced the arrival of nearly 70,000 more doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine for that age group in those cities and several others, including the popular beach town Rocky Point and San Luis Rio Colorado.
