The four years of the Trump administration were marked by dramatic changes to U.S. immigration policy, including border security and how undocumented immigrants and their families were treated. But one lesser-known shift occurred in immigration courts — which are under the Department of Justice.
Those changes were driven by Attorney General Jeff Sessions and his successors, and led to actions rarely, if ever, taken by previous administrations and attorneys general.
