Lawmakers To Continue Budget Work, Start Special Session On Wildfires

State lawmakers are continuing work this week on a new state budget; the fiscal year ends in two-and-a-half weeks, and they need to come up with a spending plan that can pass the House and Senate before that.

But that’s not the only big issue they’ll be dealing with.

Gov. Doug Ducey said he’ll call the Legislature into a special session this week to deal with wildfires, as well.

That special session will run concurrently with the regular session that lawmakers are hoping to wrap up soon.

To discuss what else to expect this coming week in legislative news, The Show spoke with Howard Fischer of Capitol Media Services.
