Arizona AG Brnovich To U.S. AG Garland: Stay Out Of Maricopa County Election Audit

In a letter, Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich is warning his federal counterpart to stay out of the way of the Maricopa County ballot audit.

Last week, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland suggested ballot reviews, like the one in Arizona, are “based on disinformation.” He also said his agency is watching and may take action.

In response, Brnovich, who is running for the U.S. Senate, sent a lettersaying his office stands "ready to defend federalism and state sovereignty against any  partisan attacks or federal overreach.”

Brnovich's letter comes as Republicans are trying to block Congress from enacting new federal regulations Democrats say are designed to remove hurdles to the voting process.
