A Polish software company will build its first United States data center in Mesa. The facility will serve customers in North and South America.
Construction on Comarch’s North American Data Center will begin this month at Ellsworth Road and Prairie Avenue.
The company currently rents spaces in the Midwest and Canada to serve clients from North and South America. Those servers will be moved to Mesa when the 32,000-square-foot facility opens in mid-2022. Comarch said it has its own server rooms in Krakow and Warsaw, Poland, along with France and Germany.
The data center will host infrastructure and applications, support and maintenance, and IT project delivery. Comarch says its clients include JetBlue Airways, Enterprise Rent-A-Car and Heineken.
In a statement, Louis Rossi, Comarch’s director of business development for North America, said: “We chose Mesa due to it progressing as an up-and-coming technology region, reasonable energy prices, existing infrastructure, lack of natural disasters, and business-friendly opt-in processes which reduced timelines for go-live."
In a press release, the Mesa facility was described as Comarch's flagship building in the United States. The company opened a branch in Washington in the 1990s and has offices in New York and Rosemont, Illinois.
